Current Mood: optimisticoptimistic
I'm in one of those moods where only music can cure it. What should I be listening to? I just want to dance (badly) about the apartment and ignore the rest of the world.
Right now I'm starting that with 'Replay' by Sean Kingston. Followed closely by 'Watcha Say?' by Derulo. I like it just as much as the Imogen Heap original version.
Cascada's 'Evacuate the Dance Floor' will prolly also be played tonight ...

P.S. "It's like my iPod's stuck on replay"

P.S.S. Someone is STILL like a melody in my head and won't get out. Gah, re: previous post about the Z! Apocalypse.

I reeeeeealy need to update here. Like whoa!

Besides work, my time is being eaten up by reading lots of murder mysteries. Including one where the sleuth is Louisa May Alcott. Which was cool, having both read "Little Women" and visiting her fam's house when they lived near Boston. Now I'm reading one called "Death at a Discount." You gotta love these titles.
The best are from Murder, She Wrote novels. And trust me, I have quite a few!
Anywho, I get really judge of this genre, because I've read so many. In the one I just finished this morning, "Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder" (Mmm, tastey), I was a but miffed because I felt the murderer wasn't introduced soon enough (at least not until half way through). One of the biggest reasons people read murder mysteries is to figure out murder, or try at least. Not that fun, or easy, to do when the murderer doesn't appear until after halfway through. But then I've come to expect this from reading lots more Agatha Christie.
Either way, I am having fun jumping around and trying new authors. I like the ones targeted towards niche readers. Like "Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder." The ammeter sleuth owns a cookie shop, and the books feature several recipes of cookies that appear during the story. I've seen one murder mystery with scrapbooking tips in it! There's also two different authors I've seen with series based on wine (wonder why that's popular in the Finger Lakes?). So, I can see how those are popular.
Well, for now that's all. Planning on going to a "Festival of Lights" sometime this weekend, but during the day. I'll want to crash in the evening when the fire-y things happen.

OH! Wait, ahahaha. Big news. My car, Iggy, died almost two weeks ago. The screen on my cell phone is cracked and I can't see my address list, see/send texts, etc. I do have a new car at this point, but am still working on the phone bit. I have named this car, Miss Lizzie Bennent.

P.S. Any suggestions for a good murder mystery anime? Am already into Conan.

I'm playing this over and over and over and love it so much. Cobra Starship is like godly.

Also, I am switching sides. I am now in favor of the Oxford comma and use it religiously. Yes, this is how I make my life exciting; I type up a list of things in a sentence and when I come to just before that important conjunction ... COMMA! I even think 'OXFORD COMMA!' as I hit the button. I need a life ... or to get laid, you pick.

I have decided that I am excited about the 'Monsters vs. Aliens' children's movie for one reason ... err, well, two reasons actually.

One, it has many creatures children today simply will not get! Bob the gelatinous ooze? Clearly the blob of horror movie fame. Trust me, saw the original and remake, scared me proper. Susan, the giant woman? Any 50 foot woman SciFi movie you choose (like 'Attack of the 50 Foot Woman,' saw half of it and loved it), personally I love how she seems so mellow. The missing link? Creature from the black lagoon! The doctor cockroach? Well, I am not sure where he heralds from, but I assume some B- or C-rated movie spawned this idea and I approve in general. Insectasaurus(sp)? Obvi Godzilla, and other giant insects that befall the U.S. in horror movies.
So, basically, I generally approve of children's movies with such subtle hints of more adult nature so parents can enjoy the movie too! No really, that is needed otherwise parents would suffer while in movies with their brats, I mean precious darlings.

Well, that was a random update for now.

Current Music: Klye and Natalie - 'Summer of Our lives'
"I hate you for backing out in the water left to drown,
I fear that you won't be there to save me,
There's just something in your eyes that gives me such a high,
I'm scared to jump if you're not with me,

Those summer nights, till the morning light,
Party over now, we're out of time,
Do you think of me when you're on the beach,
And you're breaking through the waves?
And the crashing down, are you happy now,
To the memories we've made,
You're there and I'm here,
And it tears me up inside,
I'll always remember those days,
The summer of our lives,

Now all of our future plans,
Are footprints in the sand,
So hard to watch them wash away,
And I know you're feeling this regret,
Let's go back to that sunset where we met,
And we thought we'd stay forever,
Those summer nights, till the morning light,
Party over now, we're out of time,

Do you think of me when you're on the beach,
And you're breaking through the waves?
And the crashing down, are you happy now,
To the memories we've made,
You're there and I'm here,
And it tears me up inside,
I'll always remember those days,
The summer of our lives,

One more time, hanging out at the fire,
Let's run away and ditch all your friends,
Waking up with the sand in your hair,
I don't want to let this feeling end,

Do you think of me when you're on the beach,
And you're breaking through the waves?
And the crashing down, are you happy now,
To the memories we've made,
You're there and I'm here,
And it tears me up inside,
I'll always remember those days,
The summer of our lives,
Do you think of me when you're on the beach,
And you're breaking through the waves?
And the crashing down, are you happy now,
To the memories we've made,
You're there and I'm here,
And it tears me up inside,
I'll always remember those days,
The summer of our lives."

These guys don't have lyircs anywhere so this was my attempt at doing it, but I know I messed it up in several spots. Whatever, this song rocks and it describes how I feel so perfectly. But I am going back to the summer of my life ... or at least I hope I am.

First and foremost; England and Doctor Who. Found the TARDIS at the BBC tour and got an awesome pic of me in it, now my FB profile pic. Saw the trailer one night and wouldn't let Vitali change the channel till it was over. Inquired about the Doctor at the Globe Theatre and found out they DID film that ep from the third series there.

Plane ride over was great, even when I fainted and fell over.
(*THUD*
Rachel: What was that sound?
Jen: Uh, it was DJ)
But then I got to lay down over four seats and nap for half an hour.

First day there I TRIED to find Wimbledon and failed miserably. Found it though on day two, but by the time I got back to the hotel the group had already left for Westminster. I caught up with them at the British Museum. Since this is hardly my first time in London I wasn't lost, just without my group. Unlike when Renee got left behind at White City ...

BBC was the same as before, for the most part. Still loved it and am sure now more then ever I want to work for them. Also, I cannot wait to see Series 4 of Doctor Who, but that's already been mentioned.

New sights also included going on the London Eye, the Globe, Wimbledon, the very TIP TOP of Saint Paul's and FINALLY making it to the Jane Austen Center in Bath. Wandered around Hyde Park on a nice day, did some more sketches in the National Portrait Gallery and the Victoria and Albert. Got a few ideas for writing from the Jack the Ripper tour and went to so well awesome bars and club.

But now I need to get back to work; I should be writing a paper now but instead I'm goofing off. I have no motivation to do any work. None whatsoever.

P.S. I brought back even MORE tea! It's filling up my closet.
